Recovered object

Logged in late September, after the first hard scatter of acorns. A bent silver paper clip was found gripping two oak roots, with curled leaves tucked beneath it like a patched roof. No owner was seen. By morning, the wind had passed over it, and the dry place underneath remained dry.
