№ 011 · The Watch That Kept the Missing Hour

Watercolor over graphite: a small brass pocket watch recovered beneath an elder root, lid open and face turned upward, hands fixed at twelve, moss beginning its claim around the case, fine scratches by the numerals.

Recovered object

Recovered beneath the elder root, lid open and face turned upward. The hands remain fixed at twelve, the hour traditionally marked for those not yet home. Moss has begun its careful claim around the case. Fine scratches by the numerals and a worn half-ring in the leaf litter suggest it is still quietly consulted.
